L. LAMP + PAT. SEPT. 14, 09 – NOV. 30, 09,’ 2 1/4 in. high to lid, the wick is split at spout tip on either side of tin discs making replacement of the wick nearly impossible, patented by John Van Liew of Houghton, MI, the V. L. Lamp is one of the last patented oil wick lamps with a Mar. 17, 1914 date on the third patent (see Moon, Mining Artifact Collector #17, pp 16-18)
